Repairing Water Damage Beneath a Static Caravan Entrance

The Problem

A customer contacted Nationwide Caravan Repairs after noticing that the floor just inside the entrance of their static caravan had become soft and spongy underfoot. Concerned that the problem was getting worse, they asked us to investigate the cause and recommend the best course of action.

Our Inspection

One of our experienced assessors carried out a comprehensive onsite inspection of the caravan. During the investigation, we identified that rainwater had been entering the caravan through a side panel. As the caravan had been unoccupied during the winter months, the water ingress had gone unnoticed for some time, allowing moisture to penetrate the chipboard flooring and spread across a larger area.

The Repair

Once the source of the problem had been identified, our team removed the damaged sections of flooring and replaced the affected chipboard with new materials, restoring the floor’s strength and stability. After the structural repairs were completed, the existing carpet was carefully relaid to return the interior to its original appearance.

The Result

The customer was delighted with the finished repair. By identifying both the source of the leak and repairing the resulting damage, we were able to restore the caravan to a safe, solid condition while helping to prevent further issues in the future.
